Mills50 District is reporting that the Cameo Theatre is going to undergo a major remodel. The historic theatre was recently purchased Jomabo Ventures, which includes UCF architecture student Jorge Boone (recently featured in an art show at the theatre on March 22, 2013).

The new design for the building was done by Process Architecture. They've worked previously with Jomabo Ventures on another of their other properties, also in the Mills50 district: 934-936 Mills Ave. That property, located directly north of Tako Cheena, underwent a remodel transforming it into a sleek modern white strip.

The Cameo design features a large sign that will be visible from both directions of Colonial Drive. The design keeps with Process's knack for sleek, clean welcoming design. This one features retro looking Art Deco styling, reminiscent of the historic Colonial Photo and Hobby building just around the corner.
