The 49th Annual Easter Surf Festival in Cocoa Beach is March 29-31, 2013 at the Cocoa Beach Pier. The weekend includes a number of exhibitions including a Stand Up Paddleboard surfing event, short board pro/am, and skim boarding. There are also vendors, training seminars, and entertainment. On March 29th at 5:30p The Dweebs will have a special concert followed by a movie screening on the beach at 7:45p.
On Saturday, March 30 at 12Noon the 1st Annual East Coast Dog Surfing Championship will take place. The event will feature at least 6 professional surfing dogs including the famed Booker D. Surfdog. A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the best surfing dog. The four legged contestants will be judged on a number of surfing skills including set-up, confidence, style, balance, skills, difficulty, wave ride, tricks, length of the ride, wave conditions and deboarding during each round.
A special Easter Morning sunrise Christian worship service will take place at 6:45a.
