Savoy Orlando Bought Out By Its Bartenders

Savoy (1913 N Orange Ave Orlando, FL 32804), the Ivanhoe Village staple, has been sold. The new owners include two of its bartenders (Chris Hannay and Brandon Llewellyn), and Patrick Razo. While the two bartenders will handle drink specials and entertainment, Razo will oversee the business side.

The former owners opened Savoy in 2004 and will assist with the transition over the next year. They used to own"Paradise Bar" in Mills50, but sold it November 2012. Its current name is Orlando Nights. We wrote about it as the new owners were ripping dollar bills off the ceiling during its remodeling.

Here are the changes expected at Savoy:

  • The interior is getting slick concrete flooring
  • The Tattoo bar will go from a body inking theme to a sports theme with darts boards and large screen televisions. The new name is Locker Room. Its grand re-opening is Monday, April 29, 2013 4pm-2am with catering 7pm-9pm by Dubsdread.
  • The bar's outdoor space will be getting South Florida cabana-style couches.
  • The Side Bar will have a dance floor, professional lighting and DJ booth.
  • The main bar space will essentially remain the same.

On the service side, there will be more drink specials, new opening hours of 4pm (2p on Sundays) and new $2 well happy hours.
