Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Studios Orlando was announced in February 2013. Since then the resort has seen construction on the northern courtyard rapidly go up. The resort is now visible from I-4, Turkey Lake Road and from within the USO property.
The North Courtyard pool area will feature a 100ft long waterslide and an iconic dive tower water feature surrounding its 10,000sq ft pool and 4,000sq ft interactive water play area. It will open on March 31, 2014. It features 600 family suites inspired by the sweeping motor courts of the mid-twentieth century. The suites will sleep six and feature kitchenettes. The North Courtyard will be spread across numerous four-story buildings with open corridors and direct access to guest rooms.
The South Courtyard has yet to go vertical with construction though groundwork on it seems to have begun. It has a planned opening of July 1, 2014.
