Florida Film Festival + TheDailyCity.com + Local Speakers and Brands = A Fantastic Fun Experience!

The Florida Film Festival 2013 has come to a close. What a great event! We were originally scheduled to have a branded information table inside Regal Cinema in Winter PArk Village, which is where most of the films are screened. Two and a half weeks prior to the festival, we were invited to move from Regal to Enzian to replace a sponsor for their filmmaker tent. It was a huge challenge. Could we do it? We are thrilled to say our team, brand partners and PR contacts rose to the occasion and put together TheDailyCity.com Lounge!

For the entire duration of the festival (ten days), the area was available to guests as a place to hang out. Talks and entertainment took place through the ten days. We also had freebies like branded totes. But most of all, we offered a fun seating area and reading material for guests to enjoy.

And it got put together in two and a half weeks! Here's a recap of the ten-day experience:

Guests could relax in comfortable and colorful seating provided by TheDailyCity.com. Enzian employees, filmmakers and film fans could all mix and mingle. A full bar was provided, with drink specials offered each night for guests and filmmakers.

The seating was fun and vibrant, making them stand out from the dark green grass and black fencing. Visually, it was a bold, bright move.

Free copies of Orlando Life (formerly Orlando Home & Leisure) were available. Our "Guide to Orlando" handouts, also placed inside all 250 swag bags handed to filmmakers, were also available for guests at the lounge.

A fun treat for lounge visitors was our Angelina Jolie and Brad Pit peek-thru, perfect for photo opps. It was painted specifically for our lounge by the amazing local artist, Thomas Thorspecken

Entertainment and Talks
Along with providing a colorful, relaxing and fun space for guests and filmmakers to gather, we also hosted a schedule of speakers and events to provide entertainment and learning. We had just two and a half weeks to put this roster of incredible people and brands together, and we are so grateful they came through and brought a completely unique aspect to this 22 year old film festival.

Mobile Retail Talk: Lollipops & Pistols Fashion Truck
Kristin Christenson, owner of Orlando's first fashion truck, Lollipops & Pistols  gave a talk about mobile retail, fashion trucks, how she got started and how to start your own truck. It was very informational and helpful to those who see the industry coming and want to learn more about it. We taped it. Watch the full interview here.

Vintage Shopping Experience
After the talk, we invited attendees to tour the truck and do some vintage shopping, right here at Enzian! Guests were elated to get to explore and shop right there during the Florida Film Festival. Thank you Kristin and Lollipops & Pistols!

Florida Hospital Innovation Lab
The Florida Hospital Innovation Lab taught their fun and unexpected concept of "Yes And" to the audience through a series of games and talks. Guests learned about collaborative thinking and new ways of working together so businesses can innovate faster and work better together.
About the Florida Hospital Innovation Lab: Problem solving is an inherent quality of the doctors, nurses and support staff at Florida Hospital. Each day, they apply their experience and expertise to helping patients overcome numerous health challenges—many of which are solved through a forward thinking, collaborative effort. This collaborative spirit is a hallmark of the care we provide. Bringing different people together from various facets of medicine to work together toward a common goal helps us solve challenges with better efficiency within our organization and with greater benefit to our patients. Collaboration allows us to create today’s best possible health care services, and innovate ways to continually improve them for tomorrow.

Cooking Demo: Edible Orlando Magazine
The Editors of Edible Orlando gave a cooking demonstration teaching guests how to make their own salad dressing and a fantastic Spring salad, all the while using all-local ingredients. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE. Afterwards, guests go to sample the salad and get Edible Orlando's book, "Field to Feast," signed.

Book Signing: Eat St Cookbook
And speaking of food, we held a book signing with Chef Tony Adams, owner of the fantastic local food truck Big Wheel Provisions. This was a great opportunity for guests, as Chef Tony is leaving Orlando for the summer and the truck is on hiatus until the Fall. A recipe of his appears in the national food truck cookbook released to the public April 2, 2013 called "Eat St."

Book Signing: Eat St Cookbook
Days later, we hosted another book signing, this time featuring Joey Conicella, owner of the very popular Yum Cupcake Truck.  A recipe of his appears in the national food truck cookbook released to the public April 2, 2013. The book features recipes from trucks that appeared on the tv show.

Food Demo: Wild Ocean Seafood
Wild Ocean Seafood brought several fresh fish (seen in the lower right hand corner) and went through each one, one by one, talking about them. Wild Ocean Seafood is an excellent local food brand we were thrilled to present to the guests of Florida Film Festival. Those in attendance also got to taste a fantastic fresh fish dip and chips after the talk.

Food Tasting: Eternal Tap
The downtown Orlando bar Eternal Tap did a cookie tasting for guests. Who knew they did cookies? We did! And how fun was it to teach guests something about a business they didn't know before! About four dozen cookies were baked fresh that day and handed out to everyone.

Along with scheduled events, we hosted filmmakers who had films showing in the Florida Film Festival. These are two street team marketers for the film "Free Samples," featuring Tippi Hedron. Filmmakers could hang out, grab a drink and talk to other filmmakers in the lounge.
