One of the most iconic things in Florida's history is its shuffleboard courts.  At one time, Florida's shuffleboard was as well-known as its beaches and golf courses.  The sport has fallen greatly in popularity. Many great shuffleboard courts have been destroyed including this fantastic Kissimmee shuffleboard court.

Luckily the remaining courts have a growing group of fans focused on celebrating these iconic pieces of our state's history.

After visiting the St Pete shuffleboard courts (the world's largest), Rick Kirby shared how great it was to visit a court still being celebrated today.

He has created The Sanford Shuffle event to take place in Sanford on June 28, 2013. Not many details were released, but we will keep you up to date as information comes out.
