Clark Orr of Johnny Cupcakes fame will be the speaker for the night at the AIGA SPOT event. The main focus of the event, however, is to view and vote on pieces in a design and multimedia exhibition created by students who were matched up with an AIGA mentor earlier on. Mentors include Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co., Jeff Matz of Lure Design Inc., and Nick Sambrato of Fiction and Mama’s Sauce.
Upon arrival, guests and spectators will vote on the best exhibits by placing a circle sticker, or spot, next to their selection. In the end the spots are tallied up to determine the winner. The protégé that collects the most spots wins the SPOT Award; a $500 scholarship and one year paid AIGA membership.
