It’s that time of year. FCAT is here. I don’t even have any children and the idea
of FCAT stresses me out. FCAT can really stress kids out. Balance them back out with some kid-centric
fun. Here are a few of our favorite kid
activities in the area.

With all that stress cooped up over FCAT why not let them
just let loose a little. Rebounderz is a
great indoor trampoline arena where kids can literally jump off the walls,
floors, and even crash into giant foam filled pits. With over 15,000sq ft of play area the arena
has plenty of room to let any kid run wild.
We love Toasted (if you couldn’t tell from our many pictures
on Instagram of it). The grilled cheese
mecca brings any adult or older kid back to childhood like few restaurants can. From the Dr Seuss-esqe décor to the grilled
cheese that draws a smile out of any one who loves cheese this restaurant is
the perfect place to go and be reminded about what really matters in life.
Nothing helps one relax like watching one of nature’s seemingly laziest animals. Gators are known for just sunning all day so
why not take a day and just do the same.
From insane shows to even more insane looking animals this park is the
perfect afternoon for Florida residents.
The water play area will let the younger kids cool off while burning off that built up energy. Older ones will enjoy the snakes, panthers, and giant tortoises. For an upcharge older kids can enjoy the huge zipline course that crisscrosses
the park sometimes sending riders directly over gator habitats.

Sometimes even little things can let kids, or anyone, escape
from the stress of reality if only just for a single meal. Kobe is the perfect mix of personal dinner
with the family and dinner-theatre. The hibachi show is filled with almost more fire than a properly function Mummy rollercoaster. Open flames, corny jokes, and lots of food is
always a great combination, doing it just because can make this special night
one of the those ones that the family talks about for years, or at least days,
to come.
Motion Seat Theaters
An afternoon at the movies is always fun but why not check
out one of the theaters around town that now feature motion seats. I for one can barely sit through an entire
movie but with these seats the film goes by before I even realize it. DBOX and XD both have motion seat theaters in Central
Florida, such as the Cinemark Theater at Festival Bay (XD) and the Premiere CinemaTheater (D-Box) in Fashion Square. Right now the
XD theaters have Evil Dead (R), not the best kids movie, but for the older onse
D-Box is featuring GI Joe: Retaliation (PG-13).
