Want to make bangles out of paper cups? Earrings from doll baby faces? We do. The Ladies’ Art Lounge at The Art & History Museums –Maitland (A&H) is doing that and more Friday, May 3, 5:30-7:30pm at 210 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland.
At the May 3 Ladies’ Art Lounge, guests will create beautiful and fun jewelry with artist Marla E using recycled Styrofoam, cardboard and other found objects. Works will be embellished with a variety of materials including tissue paper, mod-podge, acrylic paint, wire wrappings, beads and gems.
Paper-based jewelry is durable and water-resistant. Once you know the basics, the sky is the limit to what you can create.
Ladies’ Art Lounge is designed for women who want an evening out with friends where they can talk, have a glass of wine, and learn something new in a casual and fun atmosphere. The program is held on the first Friday of every month from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Each event features one of the A&H’s talented faculty members leading a program in which participants can let their creative juices flow. Guests will make art pieces that are sure to hold special memories of time well spent with friends.
Admission to Ladies’ Art Lounge is $20 for A&H members and $25 for not-yet-members. Pre-registration is required. A cash wine bar is available, and outside alcohol is not permitted. To register, visit http://www.ArtandHistory.org, or phone 407-539-2181 x 265.
