ArtReach Orlando and artist Dale Wayne have partnered with the City of Winter Park to create an enchanting, up-cycled forest in Central Park. This project is in support of the city's "Earth Day in the Park & Arbor Day Tree Giveaway" celebration scheduled on Saturday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The colorful, blossoms on the "Up-cycled Bottle Trees" are created from recycled plastic bottles attached to wooden tree sculptures designed by local artist Dale Wane. Attendees of "Earth Day in the Park" will be able to paint and design recycled plastic bottles to transform into whimsical tree tops.
ArtReach Orlando is a Winter Park-based private foundation that seeks to bring art experiences to children throughout Orange County. Dale Wayne is a glass artist who focuses on creating beautiful glass beads and colorful jewelry. Her "Up-cycled Bottle Trees" were inspired by the work of world-renowned glass artist/sculptor, Dale Chihuly.
The tree pictured below was built using bottles from the "Winter Park
5K" and "Trees for Peace" and can be seen Monday to Friday in the main
lobby of the City of Winter Park's City Hall before it is installed in Central Park for the event.
