Walt Disney World Announces 'Mostrous Summer' Promotion For Upcoming Monsters University fil

on Memorial Day Weekend 2013 Disney will once again be doing an all nighter in the parks. Starting at 6a, May 24 till 6a, May 25, 2013, local time Magic Kingdom, Disneyland, and California Adventure will be open for guest to enjoy.  Magic Kingdom will feature a "Monsters University" theme with Mike and Sulley as the Grand Marshals of the "Celebrate A Dream Come True" parade.  They will also be making appearances in Tomorrowland.  During the overnight hours characters in their pajamas will be be featured in Town Square and to keep the energy going late-night dance parties will take place in the courtyard of Cinderella Castle.  The 24 hour event will also feature limited-edition specialty merchandise and food and beverage offerings.

The whole thing is part of a promotion for the upcoming 'Monsters, Inc' prequel 'Monsters University,' released nationwide on June 21st. The new feature film will also debut with the new short 'The Blue Umbrella.'

“This summer, Disney Parks are bursting with a monstrous lineup of new thrills, shows and happenings,” said Kalogridis. “Guests can start Memorial Day Weekend with a 24-hour-marathon of memory-making as three Parks stay open all day and all night to celebrate the bi-coastal kick-off of a Monstrous Summer at Disney Parks.”

Also in the parks as part the 'Monstrous Summer' promotion is a new monorail wrap on the Teal monorail.  The new Monsters-rail can be found on the Magic Kingdom Resorts line.  Wraps have been featured on the monorails before but this summer we find two are the same time, a first, the other wrap currently featured in the Iron-rail that advertises for Iron Man 3.

To announce the new 'Monstrous Summer' program Disney took EPCOT's iconic Spaceship Earth into a 180ft tall, fully animated Mike Wazowski.
