Church Street Tavern will debut in the former Dessert Lady
space (120 W Church St, Orlando) in Church Street Station in August. The 1,600sq ft, 150-seat eatery will have a
Pittsburgh focus both in the menu and on the televisions. The menu will feature items from Pittsburgh
and the Midwest including Primanti sandwich, pierogies, and Cincinnati
Chili. Expect lots of Iron City Beer
too. The Pittsburgh Steelers games will
all be shown at the new establishment and if you go there plan on supporting
the Steelers. An outdoor patio will offer seating along the street as well.
John Brown, the owner, is from Pittsburgh but does have some
connection to Orlando; his father was the owner of the original J.J. Whispers
nightclub (back when it was on Lee Road).
Hopefully the tavern does better than the club; it went through
bankruptcy at least twice and a slew of owners over the years.
The new restaurant is planning an opening the first weekend
in August.
Its easy to find, just look for the Church Street Station bridge. |
