Nokia Lumia 1020 Camera is Crazy-Good

If you missed the Nokia live stream about the Nokia Lumia 1020 phone with the 41 mega-pixel camera, here are some recaps. We started a bit late so we missed the first 6 minutes. This is our first live-blogging session. If you like it, we can do more in the future. Thanks!

Nokia Lumia 1020

11:53am: End

11:50am: Press question: AT&T was a "dreadful" partner for Lumia 920. How will you avoid that with the 1020? (Some in the audience clap.). Answer: This is not a bunch of phones with a common operating system. They made a 3rd ecosystem. Nokia has to train the AT&T sales associates and get the best signage. There's another major launch later this year.

11:49am: Why no wireless charging? They wanted the device to be thin, it has a lot in there already. Wireless charging will be on future devices, not this one.

11:48am: Differentiation from other phones: camera, audio, built on Windows Phone 8, screen lets you view it in bright sunlight (like in Nokia 920), controlling screen with gloves (like in Nokia 920)

11:47am Microsoft, AT&T and Microsoft will work together on marketing campaigns. Indirect channels will receive it quickly after it launches with AT&T.

11:44am: Question about Oversampling from press asked. What is oversampling? It takes up to 7 pixels from the center. Create super pixel. Has much more info than a pixel. There's a white paper available to the press.

11:43am Available in Yellow, White, Black. Camera grip is $79

11:42am: Available July 26. Cost is $299 with 2-year AT&T agreement. Preorder on July 16 on ATT.com.

11:42am Cinemagraph: a shareable animated GIF. Imagine seeing a moving picture (not a video) on Facebook.

10:38am ATT is the exclusive carrier for Lumia 1020.

11:37am Oggle allows you to take photos and upload them to several social media outlets:

10:34am: Developer SDK

11:32am: Augmented Reality through "Here Maps" works offline and does not require a data connection. Find locations around you while looking at the viewfinder, which displays a moving image of your surroundings.

11:30am: Free music from Nokia music, Here Maps, More Apps

11:27am: Manual exposure. Photo taken in the dark:
