Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q announced a new branding initiative during its annual franchisee convention in Orlando in July. The Winter Park based restaurant chain will be getting a new name (Sonny's BBQ), logo and uniforms. A pitmaster will be present at every location, and will be in the dining room rather than the kitchen, chatting up diners. There will also be new plate-ware and a new prototype restaurant.
Dominic Losacco joined Sonny's four months ago as the new vice president of marketing. Since then, he has been working with the company to oversee the new re-branding. Sonny's also recently announced a new Chief Operating Officer, Brandon Manly.
Roll out of the new look should begin by the fourth quarter of 2013. The updating will vary in cost by location for the 125 locations, most of which are franchised.
