Mixology in Orlando Panel at K Restaurant

On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, 10-11:30am, there will be a Table Talk moderated by Jennifer Massolo of The Liquid Projects at K Restaurant (1710 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL 32804). This event is free and open to the public. Limited seating available.

The talk will open with a "kegs and eggs" breakfast prepared by chef Kevin Fonzo, in partnership with Lake Meadow Naturals. 


 The topic will be "Raising the Bar: Farm, Food and Spirits," and will highlight craft spirits and beer and the sectors’ growing expansion. 

Panelists:
  • Moderator : Paul Johnsen of the United States Bartenders Guild – Vice President/Treasurer of United States Bartenders Guild (USBG) Orlando, Johnsen was named one of the “50 Most Imaginative Bartenders” in North America by GQ magazine and Bombay Sapphire in 2012.  Johnsen assisted in launching the craft  movement for Shula restaurants around the country, and is currently active as a mixologist, creating classic beverages using fresh ingredients. Johnsen also assisted in opening The Woods, of one of a small handful of craft cocktail bars in downtown Orlando.
  • Kevin Fonzo of K Restaurant – Helmed by James Beard Award-nominated chef and host of this Table Talk, K Restaurant is one of Orlando’s first establishments to showcase local ingredients with a menu that changes daily to reflect the season’s offerings
  • Kaitlin McGavock of The Courtesy Bar – With 10 years in the bartending industry at establishments such as Eden Bar in Maitland, Ravenous Pig and Boogaloo in Brooklyn, New York, McGavock in consistently challenging herself to create by incorporating herbs and teas, in addition to making tinctures and bitters
  • Nathan Clark of Wondermade - Co-founder of Wondermade’s fluffy sugarcane-sweetened marshmallow cubes that boast a range of seasonal flavors; favorites such as bourbon and Guinness are prime examples of how liquor infusions are finding their way into gourmet products
  • Matt Anderson of Enlightened Grain Spirits- Founder / Creative Director of Enlightened Grain Spirits (EG Spirits), Anderson has more than nine years in the hospitality, restaurant and spirits industries. As EG Spirits’ founder, Anderson guides the brand through product development and brand strategy, which has lead to North American sales growth.
