Kids meals at Taco Bell are about to go to the same place as old signs: in the trash. Taco Bell, the nation's leading Mexican style fast food restaurant, serves more than 36 million customers every week. Starting next year, those customers won't be able to order a kid's meal. The nearly 6,000 stores nationwide will stop selling kid's meals by January 2014.
The removal of the kid's meals from the menu has already begun at select restaurants. Taco Bell is the first national quick service restaurant chain to completely remove kid's meals from its menu. Taco Bell began focusing on Millennials with a new, edgier image. In a released statement, Taco Bell said that kid's meal are no longer a part of their long-term brand strategy and that their removal will have no significant impact on system sales.
