Always the trend setter, Quantum Leap Winery (1312 Wilfred Dr Orlando) has begun
selling wine on tap. The new offering is
due in part to a recent state law that allows for environmentally friendly
reusable wine kegs.
Prior to the law, Florida and Utah were the only states to still have bans on the kegs, which are popular at restaurants and wineries. The environmentally friendly kegs allow for consistency in taste while providing a larger selection in a much more compact space.

“I believe that we may be the first in the state of Florida
to offer this to customers, and we are definitely the first in Central
Florida,” Jill Ramsier, co-owner of Quantum Leap Winery said. “The kegs go full circle from and to our winery and
aren’t being shipped across the country to be refilled, providing significant
carbon footprint savings.”
Quantum Leap is not just offering the new wine on tap at its
winery though, it has also partnered with College Park’s K Restaurant (1710 Edgewater Dr Orlando). K began offering the wine on tap in August,
2013, becoming one the first restaurants in Central Florida to do so.
“The wines from Quantum Leap are food-friendly wines that
will make a great marriage with our menu at K that changes daily,” Kevin Fonzo,
owner of K said. “Wine on tap has so many benefits, from freshness of wine,
reduced waste, it’s better for the environment and easy and fun for consumers.”
