Mills50 Art Boxes Removed by Orlando Transportation Engineering Department To Be Repainted by Original Artists
The City of Orlando Transportation Engineering Department removed four painted art boxes in the Mills50 District and replaced them with new utility cabinets. The art box at the corner of Colonial and Shine in front of the Publix parking lot was destroyed when a car hit it.
The four locations of the to-be-replaced boxes:
- Mills at Amelia at the YMCA
- Millsat Mount Vernon across from Hillcrest Elementary
- Corner of Summerlin and Livingston
- Corner of Colonial and Fern Creek at the new fancy 7-11
Mills50 has asked the original artists of the original four art boxes if they would be willing to repaint their boxes. The cost is approximately $200 per box (paint, supplies and artist stipend). If you'd like to donate and help the boxes return to their former state, click here.
