Our WMFE Picks For What to Do Saturday April 5th

Every Friday is a big day for us here at The Daily City. We send our "18 Things to Do Saturday April 5th" email blast to our 3,600 scubscribers (subscribe here) and our segment "This Weekend With The Daily City" airs on WMFE at 5:50pm. Both features focus on what to do specifically on Saturdays. This week, we're sharing our script for the WMFE segment early. See below. All the details left out of the script wil appear on our email blast, so subscribe today!

"I’ve got your Saturday booked from morning til night so listen up and write this down!

First, head to the 30th Annual All British Car Show 8 to 4 at Mead Garden in Winter Park. See Triumphs, MGs, Austin Healeys, Jaguars, a valve-cover race, live music and a silent auction.

Next, head over to the CFE Arena on the UCF campus for the UCF Book Festival 9 to 3:30 and enjoy internationally recognized authors & illustrators, book signings, sales, appraisals and exhibitors, cooking demos and more.

Then, drive downtown and meander through the city’s largest arts and crafts festival, the annual Spring Fiesta in the Park, featuring 600 artists and crafters from all over the country.

Next head to the Rock, Mineral, Gem & Fossil Show at the Florida National Guard Armory on Fern Creek Avenue for shopping, classes, demos, kids activities and silent auctions.

And if you don’t like cars, books, arts and crafts or rocks but love music, skip it all and drive out to downtown Deland anytime 1 in the afternoon til 1 in the morning and enjoy 150 bands playing rock, folk, blues and more at the DeLandapalooza Original Music Festival.

And if you don’t like music but love film, take in the 23rd Annual Florida Film Festival at the Enzian Theatre. Showings begin at 1:30 and go until 1:30 the next morning.

And if you don’t like film but like food, catch the Sanford stop of The Food Truck Bazaar 5 til 8 in downtown Sanford in the courthouse parking lot. The 15 food trucks take credit cards but they don’t provide chairs so bring your own!"
