One of our favorite local artists, Boy Kong, did live painting as attendees watched on at Bird Fest on Sunday March 8th. It happened at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens (Website | 633 Osceola Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32789). Boy Kong donated the piece to the museum which then raffled it off to a lucky visitor. All the proceeds went back to the Museum.
Guests also created their own bird-related art with free hands-on activities. At 1:30 p.m., the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey performed an interactive presentation. Rollins College’s Dr. Leslie Kemp Poole spoke about the history of birding society and the battles of Florida wildlife conservation. And Winter Park’s Penelope the Peacock Princess wandered the property and taught about the relationship between the peacock and Winter Park via the Winter Park History Museum.
