By this point, we all know about Constitution Park and it's old live oak trees and how a developer met with Commissioner Patty Sheehan to gauge her interest in his idea of lobbing off the trees and developing the property, which is bring rented by the city from the land owner. Then there was the public gathering last Saturday to help bring attention to the cause of saving the tree.
The Daily City was curious if Constitution Green was the only park the city was leasing land for. We went to the city and asked, and indeed, it's the only public park being leased by the city. They pay $1 per year in rent. They also pay the property taxes, which in 2014 were only $8,023.69.
