In 2014, they sold the business to new owners, and within 6 months, the new owners were liquidating everything.
We miss the original owners and are still sad they sold, still sad the new owners ran the business into the ground in six months and sad we didn't buy the truck ourselves to do something with it ourselves (We thought about it long and hard, but decided we had enough to run with our blog, our food truck events and other annual projects).
So no cupcake truck for us.
But someone picked it up!
In that same parking lot is a Sweet by Holly delivery truck. Sweet by Holly also has a shop in the shopping center that serves cupcakes, mini cupcakes and froyo. This brand never participated in any of our food truck events. But they did email us a few months ago with some exciting news.
And here they are together in the same picture. Well, the two trucks are sort of coming together in real life. Sweet By Holly is coming out with a food truck. It will be inside the old Yum Yum Cupcake Truck. The name of the truck will be called "Sweet Wheels". It will operate separate from the store. You will see them at various for truck events. They are aiming to have Sweet Wheels on the road mid-September.
They will be providing their classic size cupcakes, cookies and potentially frozen treats. Congratulations to Sweet by Holly on this new journey!
