Hertz 24/7 Pulling out of Orlando

Hertz 24/7 introduced hourly car rentals to Downtown Orlando in October 2013 with the help of two local partners. The City of Orlando and the Florida Department of Transportation joined forces to provide parking spaces and marketing support through the FDOT’s reThink program.

Approximately 400 people had signed up for free with Hertz 24/7 by June 2014. So, the City of Orlando identified three new parking spaces in hopes to increase visibility of the hourly rental cars, with the hope that more commuters and residents would take note and enroll with Hertz 24/7.

The  locations with one car available are:
  • Ivanhoe Village District on N. Orange Avenue, just south of E. New Hampshire Street
  • S. Orange Avenue, just north of E. Amelia Street
  • N. Eola Drive, just south of Washington Street
The three locations with two cars available are:
  • Broadway Avenue, just north of Robinson Street
  • Eola Drive, just south of Central Boulevard
  • Parking Lot #10 under I-4, at Central Boulevard and Hughey Avenue
The three locations with one car available are:
  • Florida Hospital-Orlando
  • Alexander Place (site of the future Creative Village)
  • CNL Parking Garage behind City Hall
But now in September 2015, according to the Orlando Sentinel, the Hertz/24 service is being removed as the company shuts down the service across the country.
