Sunday, October 25, 11am - 1pm, join producer, publisher and proud UCF graduate Craig Chapman, for the 'tasty' launch of 'The Real Food Real Kitchens: ‘New York Cookbook’,(Cedar Fort Inc, 2015). This new cookbook is based on the hit TV / HULU series which takes you in to the lives and homes of families from all five boroughs of New York City to learn how to make their traditional family recipes. The book not only teaches you traditional family recipes but also tells the story of the family and culture that bring it to life. A pop-up tasting of recipes from the book and other series favorites are on the launch-party menu !
Wednesday, November 4, 7-9pm, Orlando-raised Deborah Reed returns to launch her new novel 'Olivay: A Novel' at The Gallery of Avalon Island. Deborah is the author of several successful titles. Her novel Things We Set On Fire sold over 100,000 copies in the first six months, and Carry Yourself Back to Me was a Best Book of 2011 Amazon Editors’ Pick. 'Olivay: A Novel,' (Lake Union Publishing, July 7, 2015) explores the wreckage of loss and the collision of grief, desire, and terror in its aftermath. Inspired by real life events, and struck by the themes of terror in our everyday lives, in Olivay: A Novel (Lake Union Publishing | July 7, 2015), Reed surveys the aftermath of a terrorist attack in Los Angeles from the confines of one woman’s apartment. She grew up in Orlando, and lives now in Manzanita, Oregon.

In the bristling, beautiful prose that won her an IPPY Gold Medal for her short story collection Train Shots, Vanessa Blakeslee's Juventud explores the idealism of youth, the complexities of a ravaged country, and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive.
