Orlando Japan Festival


The Japan Association of Orlando's 15th Annual Orlando Japan Festival (Facebook) is Sunday, November 8th 11am-5pm at the Village at Hunter’s Creek, 13574 Village Park Drive. Free admission and appropriate for all ages.

Performances include:

  1. one-hundred-member Japanese Taiko drum ensemble
  2. Koto (Japanese harps)
  3. Iaido (Japanese swordsmanship and martial arts)
  4. Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance)
  5. Edo Satokagura from the National Theater of Japan’s Wakayama Performance Troupe

Experiences:

  1. try on Yukatas (kimonos)
  2. participate in the cosplay contest
  3. play Japanese-style carnival games
  4. watch a Judo demonstration
  5. enjoy Japanese music and dance
  6. observe a traditional Japanese tea ceremony
  7. learn Japanese calligraphy
  8. enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine
