Refurbished Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs to Employ More Than the 468 it Laid Off

According to Scott Joseph, the situation for the 468 soon-to-be-laid-off employees of the 21-year old Planet Hollywood (1506 Lake Buena Vista Drive) in Disney Springs is not as dire as the media led us to believe yesterday. 
  1. None of the employees were caught off guard. A formal announcement by the company was released in February. (And if they read Scott Jospeh's blog, they knew 10 months ago).
  2. Positions are being offered to some employees at other area restaurant brands the company owns. 
  3. Positions are expected to be offered to some employees at area Disney spots as well.
  4. The number of employees in the refurbished Planet Hollywood will be higher than the number currently employed.  
The restaurant will be larger, with a new planetarium observatory theme, which goes with the new Disney Springs turn of the century's.
