"Lack of Architectural Details" Accented by 1,000 Parking Spaces at New Orlando Lexus Dealership

There's a Master Plan request for new 147,020 sq. ft. Lexus Dealership at 5715 Major Blvd. It's on the site of the former Delta Resort.

In 1972, the Delta Resort/Court of Flags Hotel and a warehouse were built on site. In 1990, 3 more warehouses and a retail building were constructed on the site. The resort closed in 2003 and was demolished in 2006.

There will be a showroom, maintenance facility and car wash.

The applicant is aware of the building's "lack of architectural details," so it's offering to "generously landscape" the area in front of the shear walls

There will be 1,000 parking spaces. That's about as many spaces as downtown Orlando will lose to the Under-I4 Bridge District.

This dealership also doesn't want bike-up traffic. 18 bike parking spaces are required by Code for this project. But since they feel the spots will serve employees and not customers, they want to only offer 8 spots.
