Cask & Larder is packing up its pots and pans and moving to... the airport? It's true. Pretty soon the only place you'll be able to enjoy a Cask & Larder meal will require parking in a parking garage and a stumble-through with tourists. It'll be just like going to dinner at their sister restaurant The Polite Pig at Disney Springs.
Cask is shutting down the Winter Park location, putting its other sister restaurant, The Ravenous Pig, in its place and heading to the land of conveyor belts and non-food-hall food halls.
The airport location was announced in 2015 but back then they didn't say their Winter Park location would close. According to Orlando Sentinel, now it is. (READ THEIR FULL STORY)
The airport location didn't open their bar section until 10/17/16 and their restaurant section a day later.
Back in July, an announcement was made that Rav and Cask would split the Cask building and feature a covered walkway going next door to Swine & Sons. It was to create a mini foodie hub in Winter Park with a to-go shop and sit down dining. This is similar to Orlando's Canvas restaurant which has a shop and restaurant.
The July media coverage was entertaining watch and worth noting here. Orlando Weekly wrote THE BEST headline when they got piiiiiiiiised about getting the scoop, receiving a denial letter from the company, then reading their scoop published (with interviews from the owners) in the Orlando Business Journal.
