City to Boy Scouts: Get the Hell Outta Downtown With Your Badges and Life Skills!

In 1954, the City deeded a parcel of land at Lake Lorna Doone Park to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks to construct and operate a Boy Scout Club House there. A building was constructed and has been operating at the site for decades.

The City is renovating Lorna Doone Park and the Boy Scout House is not part of the park's future plans.

But don't worry: the City will provide a new home for the Boy Scouts at City-owned and controlled facilities to accommodate Boy Scout meetings and activities that would otherwise have been held at the Lake Lorna Doone Park Boy Scout Club House, at no cost to the Boy Scouts.

God knows where.

The Boy Scouts will vacate the Lake Lorna Doone Boy Scout Club House, beginning January 1, 2017. The new agreement with the City will continue for a term of 50 years.
