Dr Phillips Center-Adjacent Lot Won't Become a 1997 Mixed Use Parking Garage

In 1997, the 1.172 acre lot at 503 S. Orange Ave (MAP) known as the CNL-Dickinson Lot was to be the site of a joint public-private parking garage (for the use of City Hall and Dr Phillips Center which was known in 1997 in the agreement as simply "PAC") and a privately owned mixed-use development (163,000 sq ft of office, 10,000 sq ft of retail, 2,000 sq ft restaurant).

The property owner, CNL Dickinson, received approval last week from City Council for a Release and Termination of Agreement. The development is no longer being proposed.

In March, Growthspotter reported that this lot is one of several sites up for consideration as the new home for the Orlando Museum of Art: the developers (Tavistock) filed a zoning verification inquiry (as part of their Orlando Museum of Art site selection process) to build a 450,000 sq ft mixed use building & parking garage on the lot.

This lot is adjacent to the as-yet-unbuilt Magnolia Anderson hotel.
