What exactly does "in the works" mean? According to Friedland, it means they have deals they're working on and locations are being scouted for more.
While we wait for the company to announce the exact locations (which they haven not and which could be awhile before it happens), we asked our readers on Twitter and Instagram where they thought the boozy grocer should go. Here are some of those reader-submitted suggestions.
1. Maitland City Center - With an open Festival Street plan, Food Hall by Clay Miller, retail, restaurants, offices, apartments and 46,000 vehicles a day passing by, a Lucky's Market would fit right in here. See construction photos
2. Winter Park Corners - The former Whole Foods building at 1989 Almoa Ave (MAP) is surrounded by Winter Park and close enough to Baldwin Park. The footprint is small, but the owner could knock it down and build new with a long enough lease.
3. Mills50 The Fresh Market - Five locations of this high end grocer are closing as announced in April. Will this one at 1500 N Mills Ave (MAP) be the next? With it's prime location in the heart of Mills50, beer-shopping would be pleasant but parking would be a nightmare. Photo Credit Olpha C
4. Lake Nona Town Center - Based on the promo video, there's nothing this downtown area isn't going to contain. Shops, restaurants, lifestyle businesses and of course that man-made lake with the floating playground would compliment a Lucky's Market.
5. Westside Shoppes - Located in Windermere, this retail plaza will come with its own collection of retail and restaurants as well as 302 apartments and 44 townhouses.
