Free Trees to Anyone in Orlando Through City Program

Energy Saving Trees is a program designed to help you better understand where to plant trees on your property for maximum energy savings. This program is made possible by the City of Orlando, Arbor Day Foundation, Orlando Utilities Commission and the Florida Forest Service.

This program is available to residents who live within the city limits of Orlando. If you are unsure if you qualify, please check you address at this website: Orlando Information Locator

List of trees to choose from:
  1. Live Oak
  2. Persimmon
  3. Cypress
  4. Dahoon Holly
  5. Nuttall Oak
  6. Sweetbay Magnolia
  7. Tea Olive
If every resident planted a tree in the City of Orlando, our tree canopy would increase from 25 percent to 40 percent? That’s like taking nearly 40,000 cars off the road.

This program is part of Mayor Dyer’s Green Works Orlando initiative and the City’s continued efforts to be one of the most sustainable cities in America. By providing residents with free trees to plant on their property, this is another way, the City is transforming the urban environment to conserve, preserve and reuse valuable resources, ensuring a more livable Orlando for future generations to come.
