Park of the Americas to Get 42 Pedestrian Lights

By Mark Baratelli

On November 13, Procurement and Contracts Division and Parks Division requested City Council's approval of a contract with Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) to install 42 pedestrian lights at Park of the Americas at 201 Andes Ave, Orlando, FL 32807 (MAP) in the amount of $110,621.57.

The City previously purchased 39 poles and fixtures from OUC for use at Parramore Hertiage Park. That park was redeveloped, so the poles and fixtures will be relocated and installed at Park of the Americas.

100W LED-equivalent decorative acorn fixtures will replace the 175W MH teardrop acorns from Parramore Heritage Central Park, so there will be no capital charge for poles and lights.

OUC is the sole authorized provider and installer of the pedestrian lights (conduit, wiring, poles and fixtures) that will be placed at Park of the Americas. The lights will make the park safer and more accessible to the public.
