Trends

We're constantly observing Orlando to find out "whats next." Here's what we think will be on your radar in sometime in late 08/early 09:

Mobile FoodTaco Trucks/Food carts
They're big in Portland and Los Angeles, but as of 6-21-09, they're barely noticeable to a majority of Orlandoans. We think people will get braver and explore these sources of authentic foreign food. To help them, we did the Taco Truck Taste Test June 2009. Downtown has a fab crepe cart, also. (hours of crepe cart are unknown to us as of 7-16-09)

Affordable Locally-created Visual Art
Now that the economy sucks, people will be looking for low-priced alternatives for decorating our homes. Make way for the local artist: all of the talent, none of the arrogance. We're creating the Mobile Art Show to bring affordable original art to parts of the city you'd never expect to find it. Part art buying trip, part adventure.

Scooters vs Cars
Judging from the new scooter shops opening up, coupled with fluctuating gas prices, we think folks' second cars will be scooters. Downtown has a scooter shop offering open mic nights, art showings and recording studios. A scooter culture is coming.
