The show below comes HIGHLY recommended from Tod Caviness, the face of spoken word in Central Florida, the keeper of the book blog on the Orlando Sentinel website, and creator of the Poetry Vending Machine at Orlando Fringe.
The Elephant Engine High Dive Revival
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 19, 8 p.m.
WHERE: Cameo Theater, 1013 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando.
COST: $7 general, $5 students.
CALL: 407-403-5993.
What the hell is it? (In Tod's own words) "It's basically a "supergroup" package tour of five of the best spoken word poets of the past decade: Buddy Wakefield, Anis Mojgani, Shira Erlichman, Derrick Brown and a rotating fifth member. Those names might mean squat to some of you, but trust me - I could get carpal tunnel typing out their bona fides. I will happily take a firm kick in the balls from anyone who isn't impressed by this show, both as art and entertainment. Go. It's on a Monday. I guarantee whatever else you're doing on a Monday is a sad excuse."
