BucketHead Show Organizing Downtown Orlando Community Decorating Event to Replace City's Reduced Budget Effort
This year the city has $9,000 budgeted for holiday decorations for downtown Orlando. At first they were gonna have one 700 pound gold star at a main downtown intersection and that was it. No Christmas tree at City Hall, no light pole lights, no lights anywhere.
Now, two companies have come forward to provide TWO Christmas trees, being placed at Lake Eola. And the company that decorated the City Hall tree last year is donating their services this year fr the two trees. And the rest of downtown? Decorations are going to be donated... by you.
Volunteers are being asked by 104.1's The Buckethead Show to bring their lights and decorations and meet December 5th at 9am at Washington Street Plaza, corner of Rosalind Ave. and Washington Street, to the right of the Walt Disney World Amphitheater at Lake Eola.

"On December 5 and 6, 2009, THE BS (The Buckethead Show) will be transforming downtown Orlando into a winter wonderland. Mayor Buddy Dyer announced today that with the help of THE BS and the listeners of Real Radio 104.1 they will be saving Christmas! THE BS will be seeking out volunteers and donations of Christmas lights to help aid in the spreading of holiday cheer around downtown Orlando. Everyone participating will be asked for a canned food donation that will go towards the Second Harvest Food Bank."
