Any business in a renovated Pizza Hut doesn't bode well, but Garden Cafe (810 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32804-7312) is the exception. The neighborhood is scary, the interior is gross and the food is not amazing, but I'd still go back. The (lunch) prices were decent, the tea cost a buck (awesome) and they play dramatic Asian-sounding music.
Unpretentious sign
Can't hide those Pizza Hut windows
Its front door welcomes you with a menagerie of all-caps messages.
Come for the food. Stay for the interior.
Good news: the tea is a buck and served in a retro stainless steel teapot. Bad news: its luke warm.
Do not order the stuffed bell peppers unless you ask them to not dump the quart of sauce on it like they did mine.
General Tso (fake) chicken had too much sauce too. What are they trying to hide? We know its tof-icken.
