Iron Man 2 is a fun summer movie that made want to shoot a gun, kiss a girl and put my hands by my side and fly to Casselberry. The kids and adults in the theatre during the preview screening I was at agreed.

Robert Downey Jr. plays a successful super hero beloved by the country, but secretly dying. He Lindsay Lohans his birthday parties and begins a brief downward spiral. Meanwhile, a whip smacking hair weaved Mickey Rourke plots Iron Man's doom with the assistance of teensy Sam Rockwell, a bazillionaire connected to the government. With the help from his dead father and a small clatch of secret assistants, Iron Man saves himself and the day.

Mickey Rourke was goooooood, Sam Rockwell tried, Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlet Johansson wore tight dresses, Don Cheadle was boring, and Samuel L Jackson of course rocked it out.

I loved the homage to Wald Disney's Epcot plans as played out in dated-looking reel to reels of Iron Man's father. Also neat was the World's Fair re-purposed as Stark Expo, a Queens-located celebration of the future.

There was a moment when the whole screen was nothing but 80s/90s stars: Downey Jr, Rourke, Shandling. Nice.

Short review. Nothing more to say. Go see it.

“Iron Man 2” is Rated PG-13.
