PosterThe First Annual Homespun Chic Marketplace will take place on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 2:30pm to 6pm at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market located (one of our choice venue rentals!) at 200 West New England Avenue in Downtown Winter Park. Independent artisans and designers from around Central Florida will be in attendance, offering handcrafted wares. Fueled by the “Buy Handmade” movement, the marketplace is at the backbone of a growing craft culture, seeking to prove to Americans that high quality, everyday items are easily available at places other than the mall. The marketplace also offers shoppers an easy way to give back to the community. A portion of this year's event sales will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida®

The Winter Park Farmer’s Market, located at 222 West New England Avenue, Winter Park, will the venue for this years event. The event space features an open floor plan in a treasured historic building. In addition, the building has ample free parking and is within walking distance of Downtown Winter Park’s shopping district located on Park Avenue.

Rebecca Wilding, event creator and coordinator: "I created the Homepsun Chic Marketplace, because the typical craft show just wasn’t working for me for multiple reasons. After talking with some fellow mom-entrepreneurs, I quickly realized I was not the only one and that the typical craft show was not working for them either. I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a tailored event—indoors, away from the relentless sun of the Florida summer, and featuring the leading artisans in the area. It was important to me to offer other woman-based businesses a platform from which to showcase their talent and sell their craft. I’m really looking forward to this event. It will be fun and something Central Floridians really haven’t seen before!”
