Family Funshop: Freewheelin’ and Flywheelin’ Fun with IBrick Academy
National LEGO® Education Academy Certified Trainer James Jones helps parents and children use LEGO bricks to build models that show how force and energy apply to model cars. Prizes will be awarded for the best in each class of these challenging activities. 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Members: $5 for adults; $3 for children ages 12 and under. Non-members: $7 for adults; $4 for children ages 12 and under. Call (407) 836-8580 to register. Presented by Orlando Federal Credit Union and Sonny's Real Pit Bar-B-Q.

Culture Quest: Florida in the Civil War
Spend three days immersed in the remarkable facts, stories, and artifacts related to Florida’s little known role in the War Between the States. Explore Florida’s transition from pre-war territory to state to secession in 40 years. Discover the battles that were fought off of Florida’s coast and learn the impact the war had on local residents including Lincoln conspirator, Lewis Thornton Powell. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. Members $30 per day or $75 for three days; non-members $35 per day or $85 for three days. Continental breakfast and lunch are included each day. Call (407) 836-7010 for reservations. Subject to minimum participation.

History Book Club: “Manatee Insanity: Inside the War Over Florida’s Most Famous Endangered Species”
For the past two decades, the quiet manatee has been a flash point of frequent debates between environmentalists, biologists, developers, boaters, citizens, lawyers, and politicians. Join author Craig Pittman for a lively conversation and discuss the controversy surrounding the manatee in his non-fiction book “Manatee Insanity: Inside the War Over Florida’s Most Famous Endangered Species.” 2-4 p.m. Free. Free Community Weekend presented by Orlando Health
Take a free trip back in time courtesy of Orlando Health! Admission to the History Center is free all weekend, and on Saturday, July 31, the MIX 105.1 Safety Safari, presented by Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and MetroPCS, offers free bike helmet fittings and activities while supplies last, plus educational materials to help you stay safe this summer!
General admission is $9*, seniors (60+), students and military with I.D. $7, and children ages 5-12 $6. Historical Society Members and children ages 4 and under are free. *Special admission prices may apply for limited-run exhibitions. For general information, call (407) 836-8500. The History Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
