Orlando Theatre Community Potluck

The Orlando Theatre Potluck was Sunday August 8, 2010, 6pm-9pm. Orlando Shakes donated the space and the event was organized by John DiDonna and Elizabeth Maupin.

These Orlando Theater Pot Luck events are a wonderful opportunity for members of the local theater community to spend time with old friends, make new friends, and share some delicious food! Our first pot luck was held in Mad Cow's lobby a couple of years ago and was attended by about 30 people. Attendance has more than doubled for the last two events!

Our previous pot luck doubled as a roast and celebration of Elizabeth Maupin as she retired from her post at the Orlando Sentinel (but definitely NOT from the Orlando theater scene!) and included musical performances by Andrea Canny and Becky Fisher. Sunday's pot luck included an impromptu auction of the last Laura Hodos Greenroom Brownie (yes, they even have their own Facebook page!) by Mik Jacobs. Dennis Neal was the lucky high bidder at $60, which was donated back to Orlando Shakes as a thank you for hosting.

Want to join our next pot luck? If you consider yourself a member of the Orlando theater community (actor, techie, musician, volunteer, audience member) you're invited! The best way to find out about these is to follow Elizabeth Maupin's blog. We try to have them every three to six months. (Photo Credit: Mark Baratelli)
