The Amway Center is having its ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, October 1, 2010 at 9:30am. Just beforehand, there will be an attempt to break the record for the World's Largest Smiley Face 8am-9am on the roof of the Amway Center PArking Garage (25 West South Street, Orlando, FL 32801) as part of Official World Smile Day®.
The first 1001 people to arrive will be part of the Guinness World Record attempt and receive a special commemorative t-shirt. Participants must be able to stand for 10 minutes and be willing to wear a poncho that will be provided. And Joey Fatone will be there.
As the most visited destination in the United States welcoming more than 46 million visitors a year from across the globe, we are encouraging people to celebrate the world’s most universal symbol – the smile – in conjunction with our global marketing campaign, “Orlando Makes Me Smile.” The event is the culmination of the Orlando CVB’s World Smile Search program that began in April of this year.
