Did you know Roller Derby is alive and well and can be seen right here in Central Florida? Well it is and you can. And if you don' have a derby girl in your life you should!

The Thunder City Derby Sirens are taking on the Ft. Myers Derby Girls on Saturday, October 8th in their last home game of this season. Tickets are 8 dollars in advance (you can get them from a derby girl or by going to derbysirens.com) or 10 dollars at the doors. Kids under 6 are free and tickets for kids over 6 are 4 dollars in advance and 5 dollars at door. All home games are played at Speedway Skating, 1779 N. Spring Garden Avenue in Deland. Doors open at 6:30 and the action starts at 7:00 PM. The Thunder City Derby Sirens have been on a roll in their very first season winning all but two games and conquering teams all over Florida. The sirens have been through broken thumbs, bruised knees and broken feet, but are ready to finish the season strong in this final bout. Come see why roller derby is the fastest growing sport in America! The sirens will also be hosting a jello wrestling match on October 14 at the Perfect Spot in Deland. This will be the last party of the season and a great time filled with live music, leg wrestling and a couple of other surprises. Check out the Sirens on Facebook or www.derbysirens.com for more information.
