So here’s something I just found out about that is very odd, but sort of cool. Rakim, one of the most respected MCs of all time, a guy who’s known for staying out of the spotlight and not being all over the press, a guy who usually doesn’t travel much, is playing here in town on Saturday. For free. At what looks like a wakeboarding festival. Every detail is odd, but especially that location. Not sure how Rakim’s intricate, complex rhymes will come off in the venue, but if you’re a fan, it’s worth a check. Admission is “Free with Surf Expo Badge”, and I have no idea what that is or how much that is, but it’s probably worth it to see one of the all-time legends.
Rakim plays at the Orlando Watersports Complex (8615 Florida Rock Road, Orlando, FL, 32824 | map) this Saturday (September 11th) at 9pm.
Admission is free “with surf expo badge”.
