If you've not subscribed to our weekly email newsletter, nows the time! We're giving away Doug Rhodehamel collectables each week! Collect them all!

Rhodehamel, a local artist, works in cardboard and other recycled materials. He is best known for his Spore Project, taking paper lunch bags, a rubber band and a wooden stick, turning it into a mushroom, then covering public lawns and spaces with hundreds of them.

His latest project is "The Apathetics," a series of small cardboard apathetic characters with hole-punched eyes and no mouths. Each one is assigned an apathetic-type emotion. Week one was "Starfish of Apathy," week two was "Pants of Despair" and week three was "Gourd of Boredom."

The collectables (just 50 per week! Get there early!) are handed out at our table each Monday night 6-10pm at the Audubon Park Community Market, which takes place in the parking lot of Stardust Coffee. Live music, local food (ready to eat or prepped for use later), and a small relaxed crowd make this small market one of the best in the city.
