Bad Film Appreciation Society Goes Blaxploitation

The Bad Film Appreciation Society is back with a night of Blaxploitation films Friday, November 5, 2010, 8:30pm at Neon Forest Art Gallery. Admission is $6 and is totally, completely non-refundable.

In this program, we will examine the career of an iconoclastic African American filmmaker who thumbed his nose at the Hollywood system, “The Man,”and, occasionally, common sense. This man’s films, like the man himself, refuse to be categorized. A film that begins with the saga of a drug lord becomes a story about the power of education and avionics. A gritty film about an ex-con back on the streets becomes a tale of eyebrow-raising super powers. The films will be preceded by a short lecture and oath ceremony. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
