Four RENTs, two Harvest Festivals.... what next?

Orlando had five productions of RENT this year, so why not two "harvest festivals"?

1. The Winter Park Harvest Festival is November 20, 2010. The festival includes a locals-only farmers market, perfect for picking up your Thanksgiving provisions at, since the holiday is mere days away from the festival. 400 grow boxes (mobile garden beds) will be on display. They will be filled with plants as they were distributed to are schoolchildren and adults months prior. This will be the first mobile community garden ever!

Classes on worm composting, the local food shed, eating local, the Tera Madre conference, Farm Aid and more will be offered. Live traditional folk music will be performed live throughout the day. Also, food vendors will be on hand to sell locally-produced food. That evening, a ticketed dinner will be served, made completely with local ingredients. If you wish to skip the dinner, the film "Fresh" will be shown out on the main lawn. There will be of course kids activities galore.

2. The Fall Harvest Festival, presented by "Seed Art Alliance" is November 6, 2010 3pm – 12am at Austin’s Coffee (292 W. Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park, FL). This harvest festival will feature local artists, artisans, and musicians and a creative atmosphere where country meets urban. Stroll through the maze of tables featuring crafts, live art, face painting, and henna, while local musicians and festive decorations set the tone for an urban country festival.
