At noon on Saturday, December 11, 2010, Wreaths Across America Day was celebrated at Greenwood Cemetery (1603 Greenwood Street) to honor veterans from all branches of the military: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and POW/MIA. At Greenwood Cemetery 250 wreaths were placed at head stones in the American Legion/Military section of the cemetery. The organizers asked those in attendance to prop them upright against the stone and to take note of the name on the headstone and learn about that person.

Each of these veterans placed a wreath to represent their branch of the military.
Mayor Buddy Dyer spoke briefly during the ceremony.
A passionate prayer kicked off the ceremony.
The ceremony before those in attendance laid the wreaths, several traditional American songs were played, talks were given, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the flag was presented and put away.
