Coytown Community Garden | We Got Plots!

The neighborhood of Coytown is starting a community garden on 12 acres of land donated by the city. Construction has already begun on this same plot of land for the Orlando Mountain Bike Park. The Coytown community garden is on the hunt now for locals who'd be interested in tending to their own plot within the garden. Contact them here.
They're in the planning stage right now, so this is your chance to get in early and have some input into how this garden will work. Due to the large space they have to work with, twelve acres donated by the city, this could potentially be one of the largest community gardens in Orlando. Seeing as how many of the other community gardens have waiting lists, this seems like a good opportunity for you community gardeners-in-waiting out there.
The proposed site is at the North end of Coy Drive, just off Colonial between Bumby and The Fashion Square Mall. Previously part of the Orlando Navy Base facilities, the 17+ acre site was granted to the City of Orlando in 2009 and designated for use as a park. The location is nestled between Colonialtown, Audubon Park, and Baldwin Park, and would be convenient for many Downtown Orlando and Winter Park residents.
