Doug Rhodehamel | BACON! The Experience Looking for Kickstarter Funding From Bacon Lovers Everywhere

Doug Rhodehamel’s self-professed “dream project”, BACON!: The Experience was conceived based on an interesting observation Doug made in a series of social situations during which he noticed that he could ignite energetic, connection-based dialogue where uncomfortably awkward, flagging conversation was previously taking place, simply by mentioning the word “BACON!” In celebration of this wide-spread “bacon love”, Doug has decided to stage a large-scale, interactive, bacon-themed art installation. Pretty much think Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory … only with BACON!

The exhibit is scheduled for Saturday April 23, 2011 in Orlando, FL and will include:

• A bacon “red carpet”;
• A treasure trove of sculptures and larger-than-life art made from both real and conceptually-rendered strips of bacon;
• Bacon characters: including Agí “The Bacon Princess”, Randall “The Bacon-ator”, and Doug, dressed in a one-of-a-kind bacon suit;
• Ambient bacon music;
• Subliminal pro-bacon messaging; and, of course,
• Bacon tasting stations, where guests can sample a wealth of bacon-flavored food items and gourmet strips of sizzlin’ cooked-to-perfection bacon ( And, yes!!! We’ll include a vegetarian option! … Jeez! It’s shameful, but we’ll do it.)

But, BACON: The Experience! can not happen without YOUR support. Doug is looking to raise a minimum of $5,000 to cover the costs of:

• venue rental,
• art & installation materials,
• costume creation,
• event supplies,
• printing,
• marketing and event publicity,
• and hopefully a teeny bit left over to “bring home the bacon” himself in compensation for his time-consuming, bacon-devoted creative efforts.
